From in front of the computer.
Tomorrow is going to be BK’s party, Glam Cham, and as the office geek aka. New Media Editor, I will be stationed at my laptop to sign people up for our website as well as broadcasting the event live on BKMagazine.com.
Awesome eh? Well the idea sounds awesome but in practice it’s going to be horrendous. Why? First, I don’t have a MacBook Air, which means I would have to carry around my giant of a laptop in the party, WITH my external USB WebCam as this pinkified piece of shit doesn’t come with a camera. AND that’s not it, I will be carrying a FLASHLIGHT so people’s faces get illuminated to their facial pores glory.
So after I got home I decided to try out the program before the thing tomorrow to make sure my perfectly planned scheme will work tomorrow.
There are two programs I have discovered today. First is UStream.tv (which is the one I’ll be using at the party tomorrow) and second is Yahoo! Live. Yeah who would have thought Yahoo! would beat Google to this one.
Anyway. UStream.tv. All you need is a webcam, a mic, and internet connection. The reason why I chose this one over Yahoo! for the livecast tomorrow is its ability to record shows. When you broadcast, the program automatically records the video and keep them on your special page, that you CAN CUSTOMIZE!
See the BK’s one here:

And yes you can create multiple shows. I could have this one for me and the other one a Dukey cam recording his every poo moments.
Now as for Yahoo! Live. Well. I don’t have much to say. It’s like UStream.tv, the only differences are that it can’t record, you can’t have multiple channels and you’re stuck with an ugly Yahoo! looking page.
So I guess you know which one I like the most.
BUT.
Personally, I don’t really care much about having my own separate page, or multiple channels, or ability to record my embarrassment if I’m gonna put it up on my blog. Because first, I’m not gonna be playing with it much so there’ll always be one channel. Second, I don’t need to record my ugly face saying nonsensical things for the world to come back and watch. And third, I’m gonna embed the damn thing on this blog anyway why do I need a separate page?
But for BK, it’s a whole different deal. So all I’m saying is that, if you wanna get one for your personal blog, Yahoo! works better with no hassle. For professional well-laid webcast plans, gop for Ustream.tv.
Now, without further ado, I give you:
Well, it will be live when it’s live.
