Me Theme

Finally I had enough time to whip up my own theme.

OK. Well. I cheated. I actually based it on another theme, as I was looking for an idea and also a template that would let me have big header space for my little collage.

Yes those are my things. Well except the cookie and the leather tag, those were obviously photoshopped in. I took the picture of other stuff myself, but thanks to my crappy Sony Cybershot and its incompetent 8-megapixel feature, it was too spotted and too blue, despite the photo being taken at around 10am this morning.

So I just nudged up the contrast and saturation bars for the funky blinding colors.

And hey, the picture has a hidden message you know. There was a reason why I spent my first day as an unemployed doing this.

The original “torn-up” look was a bit pixelated so I fixed that too and then added the paper bag background to make it look more organic.

So yeah. That’s it.

New theme takes forever to load, at least tonight it does. ANd the bag definitely cuts readability. But, hey, it’s your blog. If you like it, that’s all that matters

It depends. What resolution are you on? Anything lower than 1024×768 probably doesn’t render it very well. And the load time is fine for me. In fact the overall size of the site is smaller than my old theme.

Still loads quickly here for the USA. And it’s sooo you. :)

Looking good! Fast enough here in Holland ;-)

Great looking header picture, quite creative, and I like the brown bag background. Also the leather tag is a nice touch. Nice attention to detail on the shadowing. A really nice improvement over the template theme.

You can heighten the “Temperature” gauge to lessen the “blueness” or sharpen the pixel tones to reduce the “spottiness” via Photoshop and other picture enhancement freeware online.

It’s not the machine; it’s the imagination …

OMG. Wow. Thank YOU.

Despite years and years of using the program I would never in my life have figured out those two very basic adjustments without your help and creativity. What would I do with my lack of imagination if you didn’t exist?

Ever heard of taking the picture again in a different surrounding & lighting? Golly, and if that doesn’t work, maybe you can temporarily *borrow* another better DSLR? You can move & ask can’t you?

Re. your last question, I’m afraid lost … lol

But to be fair & honest, you do have a nicer background as is.

Be to be honest, your present site background is alright.
