Culture One 2010

Though it wasn’t as packed as last year, and I left before midnight because my feet failed me, it was still fun.

I brought my birthday present, the Hello Kitty Fuji Instax Mini, with me. I took more photos than what’s shown here but some were stolen right from my hands when the camera spotted them out. Guess that’s the effect instant cameras have on people.

Bonus: Anyone can provide home for these kitties. The last batch from this Mommy Cat were “taken care of” by the condo management. I don’t want it to happen again. Just contacted SCAD but taking in strays isn’t exactly their focus. Please pass the word around. The babies are about a month old.

I heart u online

Sorry for the two YouTube finds in a row but this one just had to be shared.

Teeny Tiny Kina

If I could sing, was more musically in tune with my guitar, this is probably the kind of song I would post on YouTube:

This is Kina Grannis, one of the amazing Kollaboration 9 artists. This song is so random it’s cute.

Hey Apple, when are you going to let Thai iTunes accounts download music? I’m trying to be legit here I really don’t want to steal from her YouTube or MySpace even though I could.

Culture One Live on Qik

I signed up for this webcasting service long time ago but never had a chance to use it. So since I am going to Culture One this afternoon I’m gonna try out the Qik App I have on my iPhone. It’s definitely gonna drain my battery so I probably won’t stay on live for too long.

And don’t mind the current video. This is not live. It shows my other trial webcast the True iPhone Launch. I haven’t quite figure out how to change what it shows when it’s not broadcasting yet.

Well, I managed to capture some of the acts. Too bad my phone died before Gene went on. They all can be found on my Qik channel just click through the video.

Electro Shock

I’ve been so obsessed about editing this blog that I forgot about posting this.

Electro Underdogs

Electro Underdogs Cover Story

Another article that I utilized my own surroundings for a story.

Released just in time for Culture One, it’s about why Bangkok electronic scene is not happening. There were some things I wish I could add, or keep, but the feedback has been great so far so there’s nothing to complain. The process of writing it did put some strain on my life a bit though but it all worked out fine.

The festival starts quite early, like 3pm. Personally, the Thai acts to look forward to this year are Gene, Nannue, and The Diet Pills if you’re into The Ting Tings kinda music. I saw Gene live a few weeks back at a Dudesweet event at Santi Chaiprakarn Park and I think it was more than awesome. I like his post-Futon music so much more.

The BKMag website is down so click here for the text if you can’t find the copy in town.
