Wordpress.tv

This is just great. Just when I slaved myself over this blog, spent agonizing days in figuring out how to install, move hosts, fix CSS, solve database issues, etc, and finally got my Wordpress blog up and running, this happened:

Good Ol’ Feeling

I’m transferring my iPod music to the iPhone right now and the ones that surprisingly made the cut were the soundtracks from The O.C.

As much as I love my Blair and Chuck moments, no one will ever beat my Sethummer.

It was funny. It was bitchy. It was corning. Gossip Girl can get a little too much sometimes with its snob-bitching.

Listening through the key tracks from the Californian show now like Honey and the Moon and Hallelujah and I realize one thing.

Gossip Girl music selection will never be half as good.

There were times when I was watching an O.C. episode and a song came up and hit me in the head. One of those songs that made me spend hours on the internet trying to find a way to download it, even if it happened to be a track somebody recorded from the show with a tape recorder.

So far none from GG has managed to get me to do that.

Sigh I miss the O.C. I have holidays coming up maybe it’s time I revisited those box sets in the corner of my rooms.

East meets West

After having been watching Gossip Girl back to back for another two hours today, I have come to a conclusion:

Gossip Girl is a New York reincarnation of The O.C.

Well I’m not surprised. Producers with names like Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz do ring some bells. But what I see here is how much these two shows are alike! I mean Joshy you could repackage the O.C. but you would never fool a recovering Newport addict like me.

Serena, first thing I see, is Marissa. Blond, tall, nicest among the meanest yet the most troubled. Alcoholic, sleeping with best friend’s boyfriend (Well Marissa didn’t sleep with Seth, thank god for that) but again will Josh ruin this perfect character like he did with Marissa?

And then there’s Dan. The outcast, the reject who speaks non-stop and likes rock music. Sounds familiar? It’s the New York Seth, only in this case Seth has been dreaming of Marissa and not Summer. And oooh look what he’s got! A childhood toy in a form of a Cabbage Patch Kid. It’s a creepier version of Seth’s Captain Oats. Nobody can trump Captain Oats.

Blair a.k.a. Queen B, is a brunette like Summer, bitchy and and conniving (well, early Summer anyway). And I guess that’s the only thing she has in common with Summer and I’m glad. My Summer should be timeless and unique and no other teen queen character can replace her.

And please show some hands, who thinks Serena’s mother and Dan’s father are exact replicas of Kirsten and Sandy Cohen?? Long shoulder-length straight blond hair that Lily sports is definitely a Kirsten trademark. And don’t let me get started on the whole free spirited, messy dark haired, unshaven, think-browed Rufus. If those brows joined he would be Sandy.

Not to mention the underaged sister who’s always everywhere (Jenny vs. Kaitlin), a gay dad (Luke’s dad vs. Blair’s), endless benefit parties, a rich guy with secret financial problems (Marissa’s dad Jimmy vs. Nate’s)

Talking about recycles.

I know my O.C. baby you can’t slap on a few flashy school uniforms and yellow cabs and expect that I won’t see that O.C has been reborn.

I’m not surprised. What Gossip Girl is now is what the glory days of The O.C. were like. And I’m not upset, they do have some differences and I like that Josh is keeping his O.C. fans happy and obviously issuing this as a form of an apology for ruining our favorite TV show.

I accept your apology for killing Marissa and eventually the show. You are forgiven. Hey, the narrator is a blogger, and with all the fashion styles and gadget trends thrown into the show, it just couldn’t fit me more.

So Gossip Girl, please do welcome me to your Upper East Side, bitch.

OMG WTF XOXO

It's 2am.

I can't believe I have just watched 5 episodes of Gossip Girl in a row.

The second coming of The O.C. I can feel it.

TV

Being bedridden since Friday evening has given me quite an interesting experience in my mind.

There’s this thing about me. I can’t sleep if there’s no light or a slight of sound unlike most people who need to be in a complete darkness and deafness to fall asleep, I need TV with sleep timer set to at least 60 minutes.

But since I’ve been in bed all the time, it caused me to fall asleep right in the middle of a show with TV volume on normal level and without the timer set.

Interesting experience.

Like I wrote in the comments on Bangkok Bugle before, sometimes when I sleep and I dream, that dream kind of coincides with the reality.

I fell asleep when this lamely dubbed Mexican telenovela came on on series channel boy wasn’t that fun? The telenovela somehow doesn’t get subtitled like other seires, it gets voiceovered in Thai. The show is bad enough already (bad setting, bad cinematography, bad acting just like Lakorn Channel 7) but they had to go one step further to make it unwatchable – adding Thai voiceovers.

I don’t remember the whole story but what I remember was that when I was talking in my dream it wasn’t my voice or the sentence I wanted to say, it was the idiotic UBC voiceover girl that does annoying girly characters like Didi from Dexter’s Lab.

Then there was a time Supernatural was on and it took me into a nightmare. Whatever that was going on in the show at the time it was also narrating my dream. When the characters were running, I was running, when a ghost appeared in the story, it did in mind with the exact same soundtrack to make me jump out of my bed.

Then there was a documentary on King Tut’s tomb, a House episode, Amazing Race, Martha, and my favorite, War of the Worlds.

It has been a very exhausting weekend. Thanks to the sickness and heavy dose of multicolor pills and syrups.
